Get a Grip!

Grip strength is very important for many of our athletes whether they are gripping a bat, hockey stick, racquet, or ball. It also increases muscle activation of the entire body, not just the hands. If you grip something hard before you start, you can engage more motor recruitment. Plus, hands have high recover capacity, so we can train grip in and off season. Here at Fast Twitch Sports, we use several different methods to increase grip strength and measure it as one of our monthly assessments. Some techniques are Hex Holds, Fat Gripz and one of our favorites, the Ironmind Twist Yo' Wrist.
